This arrived to me in an email. I am not the creator of this genius piece, but I back it 100%.
One day when I'm really pissed about Gas prices, I'll write a very opinionated post.

Thought you'd enjoy, and probably agree with, this.
SPEND Those REFUND CHECKS WISELY!
As you may have heard, the President and Congress have promised us that...
Each and Every One of Us will now get a nice Rebate! ...
BUT...
IF we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China .
IF we spend it on Gasoline, it will all go to the Arabs.
IF we purchase a Computer, it will all go to India .
IF we purchase Fruits & Vegetables, it will all go to Mexico , Honduras ,
and Guatemala .
IF we purchase a good Automobile, it will all go to Japan .
IF we purchase useless Crap, it will all go to Taiwan .
....And NONE of it will help the AMERICAN Economy!
We Need to KEEP that money Here in AMERICA,
So-ooooo the Only Way to KEEP that money Here AT HOME
is to Buy - Prostitutes, Jack Daniel's Whisky, & Beer,
Since those are the Only Businesses STILL IN THE U.S.
On as side note, (and this information may be a bit dated);
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels
Citgo gas is from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans.
If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18
BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel)
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco..................0 barrels
Conoco..................0 barrels
Sinclair.................0 barrels
BP/Phillips............0 barrels
Hess.......................0 barrels
ARCO....................0 barrels

hey, great post!! I work for a company that manages and tracks gift cards and we commented about the stimulus on savvywallet.com. It's amazing to see where the money actually goes. One thing we need to careful not to do is to exchange our stimulus for gift cards. There are a number of retailers who are doing this. Consider this: Last year $100B was spent on gift cards and $8B was lost/unredeemed. How do we keep it in here? save it, put it back towards debt, but you can always buy that HDTV you've always wanted. At least you can say Uncle Sam helped you finance it. Not too many people can say that.
Well, yeah. I think the whole idea of gift cards is to get the money from the consumer now, and hope they lose it or get it down to an unusable balance. When I worked at Kinkos, that was the basis of switching to a card-based transaction system. People lose cards that have a couple dollars on them. Enough people do that, and Kinkos makes a profit by forcing the cards. I'm sure gift cards are similiar. Thanks for your comment, Austin.
Hey, no worries, just trying to get the word out. The word doesn't get spread in the news, it gets taken care of here, on blogs, in the social media. So keep up the good work. I'll keep you posted when things hit the fan. Something to talk about: bankruptcies, mergers...hot stuff. you can scrape some ideas off our blog.
